As an architect, I prioritize equilibrium and homeostasis to deliver effective solutions for families across Brazil. My approach places the family at the core of every project, with the dwelling serving as a vital architectural intervention designed specifically for them. I employ a spiritual perspective in my design process, diving deep into the emotional and spiritual needs of the family rather than just addressing their surface desires. It involves interpreting the unique personalities of each family member and creating a work of art that strikes a balance among their needs. Take The Butterfly House, for example. The owner commissioned me to design a home for her and her partner in her hometown of Minas Gerais. This house embodies freedom and flight as a metaphor for form, showcasing triangular sun-shading devices that open and close throughout the day, resembling the graceful movements of butterflies. These interventions create an architecture that achieves homeostasis through antithetical responses.
